Law Office of Robert L Jones
Divorce does not have to be complicated, lengthy, or expensive. At the Law Office of Robert L. Jones, we have helped thousands of clients throughout about 45 Georgia counties with uncontested divorce services. Many have been active duty military service members. They have found that an uncontested divorce allows them to move quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively through the divorce process.
Divorce is not the only think that we handle. At the Law Office of Robert L. Jones, we provide fast, low-cost, personalized, and professional divorce and family law services to our clients. While we offer legal services in the following areas, our focus in on uncontested divorce.
Uncontested Divorce
The topmost reasons for an uncontested divorce is the low cost of the attorney's fee and, to a lesser extent, the court costs. An uncontested divorce is always much faster than a contested divorce. In an uncontested divorce, the parties have agreed in advance how to divide marital property, arrange for the custody of minor children, and set child and spousal support. Uncontested divorce is the way most people divorce, due to its simplicity, speed and low cost. Another advantage is that, by working out the details of your divorce prior to beginning legal proceedings, you can keep many personal details of your marriage and divorce out of the public records, better protecting your privacy and helping to avoid identity theft.
It is our objective to take complicated situations and transform them into simple, fast, dignified and affordable divorces if the marriage cannot be saved.
Our uncontested divorce process can save you money. We offer low, flat fees for our uncontested divorce services. Typically, an uncontested divorce with no minor children costs as low as $395, and an uncontested divorce with minor children costs $795 However, our fees vary slightly from county to county.
Contested Divorces
Our primary focus is to provide clients with uncontested divorce services, in the event you are unable to reach an uncontested resolution in Georgia, we will refer you to an attorney who can help you with a contested divorce.
Please note: We do not represent clients who have contested divorce cases.
Divorce Consulting and Advising
For uncontested divorces, there is no additional charge for consultation and advising. That is just part of what we do in uncontested matters.
But, frequently, we serve clients who just need help reviewing a divorce settlement agreement drafted by their spouse or spouse's attorney. It may also be appropriate for those just beginning to consider a divorce, those considering contesting a portion of their divorce, and those considering a divorce settlement offer.
We charge $200 for the first consultation hour and $275 for each additional hour. If you decide to use us for your divorce (uncontested or contested) within about 30 days of your consultation, the $200 fee will be applied to the cost of your divorce so that the consultation does not result in any additional cost to you.
Frequently, a divorce involved transferring title to real estate from one party to the other or from both parties to just one of them. We prepare and record the deed and other paperwork needed to accomplish the transfer for a very reasonable flat fee (typically $175) in addition to the divorce fee.
Simple Estate Planning
Frequently, a divorce will completely destroy an otherwise well-thought-out estate plan. At the very least a divorce is going to confuse and complicate the best estate plans.
We offer simple, common sense Wills and even Trusts as well as Powers of Attorney -- typically at a low flat fee.
